HaloChat allows temporary sessions and flexible group creation. Because of this, non-contacts may invite users into chats or groups without requiring mutual connections.
This feature is designed to support open communication and Web3-style decentralized networking.
If you do not want to be added to groups or contacted by strangers:
How to prevent stranger invitations
- Go to Settings → Privacy → Conversations
- Disable “Allow to be searched / Global Search Visibility”
After disabling:
- Strangers cannot find you through search
- Temporary session invitations are restricted
- You are less likely to be added to unfamiliar groups
This setting does not affect:
- Existing contacts
- Groups you have already joined
- Normal communication within your trusted circle
HaloChat prioritizes privacy control while allowing users flexibility in anonymous interaction.
