Currently, high-resolution images and videos are not applied to profile avatars or certain dynamic display areas. In these scenarios, compressed versions are used to ensure loading speed and stability, which may result in reduced clarity.
If images appear blurry within chats, possible reasons include:
The original file is not fully saved on your device
If the image was not successfully saved locally or has been deleted by system cleaning tools, HaloChat may not be able to retrieve the original file, resulting in a blurred preview.
You can enable automatic saving:
- Go to Settings → Chat
- Enable Auto-save media
After enabling this feature, newly received images will automatically be saved locally, reducing the risk of blurred display.
Unstable network connection
If the image upload or download process occurred under weak network conditions, only a low-resolution version may have loaded.
You may try:
- Restarting your device
- Updating HaloChat to the latest version
- Switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data
- Contacting your network provider if instability persists
Once network stability is restored, re-entering the chat or reloading the image typically resolves the issue.
